Krono is a Clunker that can be obtained in a run.

Unlock

Krono can be unlocked at the Inventor's Hut in Snowdwell by buying 10 Crowns.

Strategy

Krono has a powerful effect that grants 1   Frenzy to the whole team, but excludes any allies with Crowns. Leaders are also considered to naturally have a Crown, since they are always deployed at the start of battle. Most common strategies would have Crowns placed on key Companions, but Krono requires that they not be Crowned. Remember that Crowns can be swapped between cards at any time (though if the Tyrant Bell is active, Cursed Crowns cannot be swapped).

Krono itself is the first card that should receive a Crown, as the entire strategy revolves around it and its ability has no effect on itself, Crowned or otherwise. To buy time to find non-Crowned Companions, it may also be worthwhile to add Crowns to Clunkers with high   Scrap or Items that inflict   Snow. The Sun Bell of Charge allows the player to immediately redraw a hand to dig for key Companions as well, and the Sun Bell of Hands allows them to draw a hand of 7 cards instead of 6. All these factors combined make Krono at its most useful in a very thin deck, ideally one that contains 12 or less cards after all Crowned cards are played, or 14 cards with the Sun Bell of Hands (allowing the player to draw a starting hand and a new hand with the Sun Bell of Charge).

Shades will always benefit from Krono even if they are summoned by a card with a Crown, because the Shades themselves do not have Crowns. If the Blank Mask copies a card with a Crown, the summoned Shade still will not have a Crown and will still benefit from Krono.

Cards on the field with no   Counter or   Reaction, such as Junkhead and Egg, can still gain Frenzy from Krono if they don't have Crowns. However, since these cards cannot trigger, the Frenzy has no effect.
