Kernel is a Companion that the player can bring along on a run. They are exclusive to the Snowdwellers Tribe.

Strategy

Kernel has good health to take hits and grants Shell to the card behind each time they are hit, effectively transferring some lost health to that card. This allows that card to take the front line once Kernel's health is exhausted, buying time to patch Kernel back up. Using healing or other sources of Shell on Kernel is a great defensive strategy, as this directly benefits both Kernel and the card behind.

Since Kernel can grant a lot of Shell very quickly if multiple enemies attack at once, they can quickly build up Chompom's Shell to deal more damage.
