Warthog is an enemy which the player can encounter during a run. It appears in the fight with The Wild Hogs.

Strategy

Warthogs are massive threats, boasting huge health, strong attack, and the potential for high Frenzy from the Wild ability. It is imperative to Snow or Ink them right before any Companions try to attack them, as they will be punished by Smackback otherwise. Without a hyper-aggressive deck, it usually isn't feasible to take down a Warthog before the multitude of Hogs surrounding it, so properly timing Snow or Ink is crucial. Snow and Ink also are valuable since each of them negates another problematic factor: Snow freezes Warthogs' Counters in addition to their Reactions, and Ink negates the Wild ability to prevent them from gaining Frenzy (though they keep any Frenzy gained before becoming Inked).

Trivia

Warthog is one of only three cards that naturally have both a Counter and a Reaction, the others being Nova and Maw Jaw. Certain Leaders also may have a Counter and Reaction, but they are rare.
