Roibos is a Companion that the player can bring along on a run.

Strategy

Roibos occupies a similar role as Companions like Fungun, Shen, and Biji but buffs another card when hit, instead of themself. Leveraging Roibos's attack buff requires some planning, and the Leader's base attack and effects can single-handedly dictate Roibos's effectiveness. If the Leader has good attack and an ability like Barrage, the player must avoid having cards on the field with lower attack, or else they will get buffed first. On the other hand, if the Leader's attack is low and there is a Companion worth buffing, the Leader will get buffed first. As such, Roibos is most effective when the intended card to buff has significantly lower attack than the rest of the deck's Companions. Luckily, some strong targets such as Foxee, Tiny Tyko, and Jumbo have very low attack to begin with, so they can quickly accumulate attack.

Remember that an "ally" always refers to a separate card, so a card that interacts with its allies will never interact with itself in that way. Thus, Roibos will never gain attack by their own effect, so there is no worry of them stealing the buff from someone else.
