Item cards are those which assist the player in battle from their hand, providing beneficial effects or dealing damage to enemies.
Items that boost effects or apply buffs can be played on cards on the field or in hand; for instance, Pinkberry Juice can boost the health of any Companion in hand, not just one on the field.

Note: Items without an attack value do not count as hitting their target, but an attack value of 0 or higher means they will hit a target. This also means that having an attack value prevents an Item from being played on a card in hand. For instance, Blaze Tea can be used on a card in hand but the Blaze Bom cannot.
