Charm Description
Apply the same effect as the last Charm applied to the card

Shade Slug is a Charm that the player can collect on a run.

Unlock

Win a run without any Charms equipped.

Strategy

The Shade Slug's ability to copy the effect of any Charm gives it huge potential. The Charm that will be most valuable to copy depends on the deck, card, and Charm, but pick a Charm with high impact. When a card has multiple Charms attached, the one that was applied most recently is the leftmost one.

Uniquely, the Shade Slug can be attached to a card and copy a Charm regardless of restrictions that would otherwise prevent it, such as redundant keywords. For instance, the Shade Slug can copy the Gnome Charm.pngGnome Charm, even though a second Gnome Charm would normally count as a redundant instance of Aimless. This also makes it possible to reduce a Companion's base Health.png health to 0 if copying the Truffle Charm.pngTruffle Charm or Moko Charm.pngMoko Charm, which will result in the Companion dying instantly in hand when drawn.

If the Shade Slug copies the Beetle Charm.pngBeetle Charm, it will still take up a Charm slot.

Trivia

  • The Shade Slug bears some resemblance to the Shade Clay.png Shade Clay, which also has a copying effect.
  • Attaching a Shade Slug to a card whose most recent Charm is also a Shade Slug (most common with the injured Companion event) will cause the game to immediately crash.
