Krunker Fight

Krunker is one of the possible sixth fights a player can run into. The fight is won when the Boss, Krunker, is defeated.

Strategy

The battle against Krunker is a drawn-out one that requires careful attention to where cards are placed and when they attack. In the first phase of the fight, Krunker deals huge damage to all indicated zones, requiring the player to move around and/or recall cards to protect them. It is also backed up by Spike Walls that block attacks and retaliate with Smackback, requiring even more attention to placement and timing. Ice Forges enhance the attack of Spike Walls, making their counterattack even more deadly, while simultaneously decreasing the attack of player cards to slow down the fight. Krunker, Spike Wall, and Ice Forge are also all Clunkers, and thus have Scrap instead of health. As such, repeated attacks are necessary to defeat them, not just high damage. Grink and Spuncher are mostly minor annoyances that simply get in the way of Krunker, although they can inflict some real damage if powered up by the Ice Forge.

In the second phase of the fight, Krunker loses its Clunker status and instead has 50 health, and it gains Resist Snow. It attacks faster but has less attack and targets zones on both sides of the field in exchange. This phase mainly serves to test if the player survived the first phase without taking too much damage, as second-phase Krunker can pick off damaged targets easily, particularly when buffed by the Ice Forge. Because Krunker can now deal friendly-fire damage to its field, this phase can be over surprisingly quickly, especially if it kills its allies or triggers the Spike Walls' Smackback on itself.

Snow is effective at delaying Krunker's attacks in the first phase and buying time to rearrange cards appropriately. In the second phase, Snow is no longer as effective, but Frost can negate all its damage from an attack.

If Krunker is inflicted with Ink and thus loses Bombard, it will attack the front of both rows like any other two-zone boss. This is extremely dangerous in the first phase due to its high attack.
