Resist Snow

Resist Snow.png Resist Snow is a stat given to many powerful enemies, minibosses, and bosses. As its name suggests, it makes these enemies more resistant to the Snow.png Snow debuff.

Information and Strategy

Resist Snow limits the effectiveness of the Snow.png Snow debuff. A card with Resist Snow can never have more than 1 Snow at a time, no matter how it is applied. Attempting to add any more Snow while the card is already Snowed will not apply any additional Snow. However, Snow inflicted on these enemies works otherwise normally; it counts down at the end of the turn, prevents their Counter.png Counters from counting down, and stops their Reaction.png Reactions from triggering.

Resist Snow Interactions

No player cards have Resist Snow innately, nor can they gain it through any means. The only way to have an allied card with Resist Snow is to use the Shade Wisp.png Shade Wisp to copy an enemy that has it. Because Resist Snow is a stat and not an effect, it also cannot be negated with Ink.png Ink, similar to how Frenzy.png Frenzy is not negated by Ink.

Snow counts down at the end of the turn only if the Snowed card experienced the turn countdown while it was Snowed, which means that a Companion like Snoof.png Snoof or Snoffel.png Snoffel can never completely immobilize an enemy with Resist Snow, even if they trigger every turn. Every other turn, the enemy will already be Snowed when inflicted with more Snow, and it will still count down at the end of the turn (since it experienced the countdown while Snowed). The only way to permanently stall an enemy with Resist Snow is to use Items to inflict Snow every single turn.

Yuki.png Yuki has a notable interaction with Resist Snow, as they gain an equal amount of Attack.png attack whenever a card is Snowed. If a card with Resist Snow is Snowed, Yuki will only gain 1 attack at a time, even if the source of the Snow was a high-Snow card like Snowcake.png Snowcake. If a card with Resist Snow already has 1 Snow on it, using another source to inflict Snow will count as inflicting it with 0 Snow, so Yuki will not gain attack at all.

On the other hand, Kobonker.png Kobonker triggers against cards whenever they are hit or affected by a source that inflicts Snow. Even if the card has Resist Snow and already has 1 Snow, attempting to inflict more Snow still counts towards Kobonker's Reaction, since it only cares that the source was able to inflict Snow. Kobonker will trigger and hit that card even though no Snow was added.

Trivia

Internally, Resist Snow is referred to as "Immune to Snow," and there are multiple other unused "Immune to X" stats that work identically to it (limiting a certain status to only 1 stack): Immune to Spice, Immune to Frost, and Immune to Bom. If these were used, they would likely have the external names Resist Spice, Resist Frost, and Resist Bom. Similarly, there are multiple unused "Resist X" stats, which are weaker versions of the "Immune to X" stats and simply reduce the amount of the resisted debuff that is inflicted by 1: Resist Shroom, Resist Spice, and Resist Snow. Confusingly, the internal Resist Snow is a different status from the external Resist Snow (as the version of Resist Snow currently in the game is the Immune to Snow version).
