Snow is a debuff applied by many cards. It prevents the card's counter from counting down and, the card cannot react. At the end of every turn, it counts down by 1.

Information and Strategy

Snow is the most common status effect in the game. All three tribes start with a card that applies it and can gain more such cards, and many enemies are also able to apply it to your units. When applying Snow to enemies, try to target powerful enemies or enemies that will activate soon, in order to delay their activation. However, many powerful enemies come with Resist Snow.png Resist Snow, which will limit Snow's utility against them. When trying to deal with snow applied by enemies, the opposite strategy applies - move your units around so that your weakest unit, or a unit with an attack that won't activate soon, will recieve the debuff.

Snow interacts with several other mechanics in interesting ways. Firstly, Snow decreases whenever the card's counter would count down. This means that any effects that would count down a card's Counter directly (such as the Sun Rod) will instead count down the snow by the same amount instead. In addition to blocking the card's counter, Snow also cards that activate under a certain condition from activating. This means you can apply Snow to cards like Warthog or Maw Jaw in order to attack them without fear of counterattack. However, Snow only prevents specifically card activations - other effects, such as statuses like Teeth.png Teeth or effects like Bolgo's, will still activate as normal.

The Snowdweller Tribe is best suited to take advantage of this status, as they have the most cards that can apply Snow, and have access to several effects that trigger based off of an enemy having Snow. When using those effects, though, be careful about enemies that Resist Snow.png Resist Snow. Since they can only have one Snow applied to them at once, and Snow ticks down by one after every card you play, your cards in your hand that apply Snow can not be used to combo into other cards like Stormbear Spirit or Wallop, and you will need to time it so that another one of your Companions is able to apply the Snow.
