Pom is a Shade that the player summons with the Pom Mask. A special trait of the Pom Mask is that it will summon Pom as an enemy and on the enemy side of the board in a location of choice. This means Pom's effect of "adding barrage" applies to the player, as the player is the enemy to Pom.

Pom has the uncommon aspect of being summoned as an enemy, so a player must watch the damage and turn counter of Pom when considering their use. Pom attacks for minimal damage but attacks frequently. The tradeoff is that the player will receive Barrage, enabling everyone to hit an entire row at a time.
Unlike most Shades, Pom is summoned as an enemy. Thus, the player's cards are the ones that will gain Barrage, since they are Pom's enemies. Gaining Barrage on all cards is a powerful effect, but it also means that Pom will always be vulnerable to damage no matter where it is summoned. Try to focus on taking out the row that Pom is not in, to get the most mileage out of it before it is inevitably destroyed.

Players will want to watch who their cards target to prevent accidentally killing Pom too early. Placing Pom strategically is important to avoid having them next to a high priority enemy card.
Like all Shades summoned to the enemy field, Pom can be used to delay enemy reinforcements by taking up an otherwise-available space on the field.

Trivia
Pom may have a connection to the Pomegranate Charm and Pombomb, as they are all pomegranate-themed and revolve around attacking multiple enemies at once.
