Leech is a Shade that the player summons with the Leech Mask. Leech is summoned to a location on the enemy side of the board meaning that their effect of stealing health is applied to the player's enemies, as they are Leech's allies.
Leech is a Shade summoned with the Leech Mask.
Strategy
Leech has the uncommon aspect of being summoned as an enemy, meaning the player must take care when considering its placement. Leech does have attack and will deal damage, but the player also needs to avoid accidentally killing Leech before it can be useful. Since Leech is summoned as an enemy, it steals health from all other enemies, since they are its allies. With each attack, it decreases each other enemy's health by 3 and increases its own health by that total amount. This does not affect Clunkers, as they have no health. Leech's effect is particularly noteworthy in that it does not actually damage the enemies, instead directly modifying their health. This means that it completely bypasses Block and Shell, but will also not be increased by Demonize or Bom.

Strategy
Players will want to watch who their cards target to prevent accidentally killing Leech too early. Barrage and Overburn can prematurely kill it, but keeping Leech's health in check may still be a good idea. Having a Miniboss enter the battle behind a well-fed Leech might cause problems if it takes too long to break down Leech to reach the miniboss. The Grabber or a card with the Hook Charm can Yank anything behind Leech to the front.
Leech has the uncommon aspect of being summoned as an enemy, meaning the player must take care when considering their placement as they will be targeting the player's units when they attack.
Upon each attack, Leech reduces each of their allies health by 2 and increases their own health by 2 for each enemy hit. This does not affect units without health, such as Clunkers.

As with all other cards that summon units to the enemy side of the board, Leech can be used to halt enemy reinforcements by taking up an otherwise available space on the board.
As with all other cards that summon units to the enemy field, Leech can be used to halt enemy reinforcements by taking up an otherwise-available space on the board.

Players will want to watch who their cards target to prevent accidentally killing Leech too early. Placing Leech strategically is important to avoid killing them with Barrage or Overburn, and having a Miniboss enter the battle behind them could mean you now have a large wall of health to break down before you can target the miniboss.
Leech is a surprisingly good target for Lumin, stealing 6 health from all enemies per attack. Make sure to have enough damage on hand to break down Leech if necessary, however. Leech may also be boosted by Lupa, which not only allows it to take more health from enemies but also robs them of potentially getting boosted by Lupa.
