Welcome to the wintery world of Wildfrost!

In this guide we'll cover the basics of a battle and an overview of how the game works.

What is Wildfrost

Wildfrost is a roguelike deckbuilder. Players begin and advance through a set of events called a run - which include battles, vendor encounters, and others - and try to advance as far as possible without being defeated. If they lose their hero they'll be sent back to the town where there are options to unlock and upgrade new card types, and can re-enter the frozen world to try another run with a new deck!

The Basics of a Card

Most cards have 3 basic elements: -On the top left, the health of the card is displayed; when the hero's health reaches 0 the run ends immediately. Regular champions are temporarily injured. -On the bottom, the attack timer is displayed inside the sun icon. Each turn, the countdown for each deployed card is reduced by one. The card completes its action when the timer reaches 0, then resets to its base value (you can see this by hovering over the turn timer). The counter goes down in the order: 11 9 7 || 1 3 5

                                                                                                                     12 10 8   ||   2 4 6

-On the top right, the damage indicator is inside the sword icon. When that card attacks, it deals the amount of damage displayed.

Exceptions: -Klunkers have unique health, called scrap. Every instance where a clunker takes damage they lose 1 scrap, no matter the damage amount. -Instead of turn timers, some cards have reactions (!). They only activate when a specific condition is met.

Selecting your Hero

Each run begins selecting a hero character. There are three heroes available to select from. These characters are randomly generated in appearance, stats and possible bonus attributes. Keep in mind you can't remove your hero from the game board once placed, and if it's defeated you'll loose the run! It's one of the most important cards in your deck - so choose wisely.
