Unused Content
Wildfrost has a multitude of unused content that has been retired or has never been implemented. It is theoretically possible for these mechanics to show up in a future update, but extremely unlikely. This page serves as a compendium of everything that currently goes unused.
Unused Stats
Resist Snow has the internal name Immune to Snow, and there are multiple similar unused stats: Immune to Spice, Immune to Frost, and Immune to Bom. Each of these stats prevents a card from having more than 1 stack of the respective status.
Confusingly, there are also multiple unused stats with a Resist (status) naming convention, which are weaker versions of the Immune to (status) stats: Resist Shroom, Resist Spice, and Resist Snow. When a card with one of these stats is inflicted with the respective status, the source of the status inflicts 1 less stack (for instance, Hongo's Hammer would inflict only 2 Shroom on a card with Resist Shroom, instead of 3).
Unused Companions
Klutz was the precursor to Jumbo in the beta prior to version 1.0. They have since been replaced by Jumbo entirely, but uniquely had their own artwork (whereas most working cards in development only consisted of a blank background). Mechanically, Klutz was identical to Jumbo but had less health (8 compared to Jumbo's 13).
Greevle (internally named Headless) was the precursor to The Baker in the beta for update 1.2. Greevle went through multiple incarnations, but the last version of them had 9 health, 5 attack, a Counter of 4, and the effects "Also hits ally ahead, Draw 2 on kill." Interestingly, The Baker did not replace Greevle in the game's files, and Greevle can still be spawned in using mods.
Unused Enemies
- The Ink Sacks (formerly known as The Blotters in the update 1.2 beta) have two enemies that ultimately went unused, but still exist within the files:
- In the update 1.2 beta, The Gunk Bugs had the name The Dittos and revolved around manipulating the player's card effects. Although the precursors for most of the enemies were directly replaced by the final versions, one of them still exists in the files: Sloppy, internally named Blot (18 /5 /4 ), which has the effect "While active, reduce effects of all cards in hand by 1."
- An unused fight that appears to revolve around Shades exists in the game files, with three unique enemies and a miniboss. Given that Duper mentions the Bootleg keyword, this fight was likely intended for update 1.2. None of these enemies appeared in the private beta for update 1.2, however, so it is possible that this fight was scrapped very early in development.
- Dap (10 /0 /4 / ) has the effect "Before attacking, take 2 attack from all enemies."
- Dip (6 /2 /3 /2 ) has the effect "When an enemy is deployed, take half of their health."
- Duper (13 /5 4 / ) has the effect "When an enemy is deployed, summon a Bootleg copy of them."
- Droopy (40 /4 /5 / ) is the miniboss and has the effect "When deployed, summon copies of all enemies with 15 health."
Unused Items
A total of 6 Item cards exist in the game files but are unused. They all have negative effects and likely would have been generated during battle or obtained as some sort of penalty. Uniquely, several of them have Reactions, something that no Item card in the final game has:
- Big Snowball has the effect "When drawn, apply 1 Snow to all allies."
- Broken Crown has 2 attack, the Reaction "When drawn, trigger against all allies," and Consume.
- Dubious Food has the effect "Reduce health of an ally by 1, Consume."
- Dull Ring has the effect "While in hand, reduce attack of all allies by 1."
- Goat Tongue has the effect "Apply 1 Demonize," the Reaction "When drawn, trigger against a random ally," and Consume.
- Shrapnel has 1 attack and the Reaction "When drawn, trigger against a random ally or enemy."
Unused Charms
In the update 1.2 beta, there is one unused Charm, the Salvage Charm, which granted an unused keyword (Salvage 1). The description of Salvage read "Add Attack to self or a random ally when a card is destroyed."
